“Type,” a Remotion collection
Michael Andreuzza’s typography films: each one is an 18-second kinetic-type piece in its own style, from 3D letter clouds and split-flap boards to rubber letters and rack-focus haze. You hand it your lines and three colours as props.
Part of the paid Lexington Motion template pack (React + Remotion source, one-time license). We use it as the style reference for our typographic intros, starting with the Hayden Turns 26 episode.
WHY WE SAVED IT
“A huge cheat code”
Ray Fernando shared the collection on October 19, 2026 with one line: “This is a huge cheat code if you edit content using Opus.” That is the workflow we use too: an AI editor plus Remotion scenes, driven by the real conversation.
Saved by Mason on October 20, 2026 so the style and the workflow stay easy to point back to.
THE TOOL UNDERNEATH
Remotion
Our intros are React components rendered to video with Remotion: every scene is code, timed to the same 57-second Mason + Hayden music bed, so a new episode only needs new lines, new photos and new colours.
Free for individuals and small teams; larger companies need a license from Remotion.
How an Earl Pod intro comes together
THE SHORT VERSION
Every episode now starts with Cold Open: The Mic Stand, a deadpan 10 to 30 seconds inspired by late-night deadpan openers, then the regular intro. The steps below are the typographic package we build after the recording.
1. Listen first
The recording is transcribed, and the intro is written from what was actually said: the questions, the jokes, the moments worth teasing.
2. Type on the beat
Scenes land on the bars and drops of the music bed. Split-flap dates, rubber letters, letter clouds and photo montages are all tied to the same grid.
3. Check, then publish
Every cut, edge and fade is reviewed as stills and a full playback before the episode is assembled, loudness-checked and published to Spotify.
